Estate Management Consultancy

England and Scotland

The Brief

The client required Freedom to look after 2,000ha of land in England and Scotland around its seven nuclear generation sites. The land supports sixteen habitats and 45 priority action species. Freedom was also asked to deliver environmental mitigation for the client’s nuclear new build programme.

The Approach

Freedom formed a team of in-house, sub-contractor and contractor resources to deliver strategic land management and planning advice. This included reptile habitat creation, agricultural and amenity advice, ecological surveys and impact assessments. Forestry and woodland management, landscape assessment, land restoration and soils, drainage, management of contractors and stakeholder liaison were also provided.

The Delivery

Freedom undertook topographical and ground radar surveys, structural, drainage, ecological and tree risk surveys, as well as electrical and water inspections, estate mapping and plans. Public access, soil and unexploded ordnance surveys, landscaping, roofing, electrical repairs and major fencing projects were also carried out, along with woodland thinning and pest control.
