NG Bailey, the UK’s largest independent engineering, IT and facilities services business, has completed the acquisition of Schneider Electric’s Subsation Engineering Services (“SES”) division, a leading provider of power engineering and facilities solutions. The acquisition provides an excellent opportunitiy for NG Bailey to extend its range of services in the electricity distribution network sector.
The acquisition will generate a further £10m of annual turnover and will see more than 70 highly skilled employees join the NG Bailey Group from Schneider Electric. The team will become part of NG Bailey’s Services division and operate under the Freedom brand that was acquired in March 2018.
The SES division has successfully provided engineering capital replacement and ‘hard FM’ maintenance services, particularly within utilities, for more than 10 years. It works primarily with electricity distribution network operators (DNOs) and private network owners across substations and networks.
David Hurcomb, NG Bailey’s Chief Executive, said: “Bringing the SES division into the NG Bailey fold provides a natural extension to the range of services we already offer – particularly engineering and maintenance.”
The transaction was led by Jonathan Stockton, NG Bailey Group Strategy & Performance Director, with deal support from Nigel Hinchliffe (KPMG), legal due diligence from Gareth Saynor (CMS), and tax diligence from Andrew Coticelli (Deloitte).
