| Project Completion Date | Friday 23rd October 2009 |
This work was due to Appletreewick being an area of natural beauty and with that CE and the North Yorkshire national trust were keen to improve the area further by removing the unsightly overhead poles and lines.
An 11kV outage was required in order to safely install a new pole on the HV network with a 50kVa transformer to step down the 11kV HV supply to the required 415V LV supply for domestic use.
...a successful outcome which leaves Appletreewick of the north Yorkshire national park an ever greater area of natural beauty.
This involved the canvassing (informing) of 70+ residence of the pending outage under CE Electrics EGS8 guidelines.
Prior to the fore mentioned outage a total of 600 metre (approximately) of trenchwork was required through arable land, public carriageway and private land in order to lay the new main and services required.
This was done with the aid of traffic management. The cable jointers could then commence the new services to be installed to the residence of Appletreewick.
On the day of the outage the linesmen (2 teams, 4 men) and SAP (Senior Authorised Person) along with the pole installers with all plant required set about the installation of the new sub pole. This was required to be complete before the end of the day so as the jointers could transfer all residence.
With a great team effort of all involved excavators, jointers, linesmen, SAP, Pole installers and Freedom Management along with CE Engineers all was achieved as planned over the 4 week period with a successful outcome which leaves Appletreewick of the north Yorkshire national park an ever greater area of natural beauty.
