Emergency restoration works followed the catastrophic failure of an 11kV switchboard at Witham Primary Substation using temporary ring main units.

The failure had caused the loss of supply to thousands of homes and businesses throughout Witham.
Freedom workforces were on site within 20 minutes of receiving the emergency call. A new building was constructed, a new switchboard installed and feeders/transformers connected. The old building was demolished and all plant the removed. The work included all electrical and civil designs plus project management.
