The project consisted of the replacement of the two aged English Electric transformers with new 12/24MVA Brush Transformers and associated protection works:

  • Provide detailed Civil, Primary and Protection Design
  • Project Management and CDM site management
  • Modify the existing transformer bunds and install two new brush 12/24MVA transformers, protection, battery and telecoms facilities
  • Install, commission and energise T1 and T2
  • Acting as owners engineer to witness test the two new transformers
  • Installation of all power cables to new transformers
  • Installation of multicore protection and pilot cables, containment and commissioning
  • Protection systems installed and commissioned
  • Network outages planned and undertaken by Freedom operational Engineers
  • Supplying Freedom Senior Authorised Persons
  • Contingency planning, including new-old switchboard interconnectors and pre-fault demand transfers
