| Project Completion Date | October 2005 |
This case was part of a major project upgrading the South London 132kV ring system. The project also involved replacing feeder protection systems on four 132kV circuits in the immediate area.
Installation and commissioning was carried out successfully during summer 2005 to an ever changing outage programme.
The auto switching system utilized VA-Tech ‘IOTA’ programmable logic units to effect the required switching logic and was provided in a free standing 19” rack cubicle with separate wall mounted terminal box.
Replacement feeder protections were supplied in pre-wired 19” rack format front sheets.
Freedom was appointed Principal Contractor by EDF Energy and carried out all design engineering activities. Installation and commissioning was carried out successfully during summer 2005 to an ever changing outage programme (delays enforced by overrunning transmission outages in the London area).
