Penrhyn Hill is a split level Dual Carriageway which passes through a rock mountain which inevitably made new installations a challenge.
Existing 10m concrete columns originally installed on the off side, down the centre, at the top of the hill and the roundabout at the bottom. These were to be removed and replaced with 12m columns.
NWP Power Systems (part of Freedom) were successful in winning this contract. The new lighting design for this scheme involved new columns to be installed only in the centre, with replacements on the roundabout and at the top of the hill. In addition, new traffic signs and bollards were installed.
