What we do
Freedom provides a range of specialist independent surveys, inspections and condition assessments. Using the latest technology, we collect information from the air or the ground. Our survey and inspection teams cover underground utility (see more on our g-map services), topographical, tree risk, building, electrical, pole and ground condition surveys. Supported by our CAD, GIS, mapping and data specialists, we provide reports and data on assets, helping you to plan your work, be it new build, replace or maintain.
Who we do it for
With a strong presence within the Electricity industry working for UK Power Networks, Western Power Distribution, Northern Powergrid, Electricity North West and SP Energy Networks, Freedom also provides these services within other sectors including; Oil and Gas (INEOS, GASSCO), Construction (Atkins, Siemens and Wates), Power Generation (EDF Energy), Public sector (Shropshire Fire and Rescue and Powys CC) and Industrial and Manufacturing (Lafarge).
Using industry leading technology, Freedom surveys miles of Overhead Lines using helicopters, wind turbines with drones, assesses the condition of thousands of wood poles, maps underground utility services and drainage, as well as checking for and managing asbestos. Our people are experienced in working safely within highly controlled environments to deliver solutions to ensure you can plan your work accurately, cost effectively and, most importantly, safely.
Freedom provides a wide range of specialist surveys from the ground or air. Surveys include topographical, ground probing radar, measured building, structural, underground utilities and drainage. See our g-map services for more details. These can be site specific, multiple site, route and corridor surveys. Freedom also conducts specialist surveys, such as asbestos and bathymetric surveys, so whatever your survey needs, Freedom can take care of it.
Freedom undertakes aerial surveys utilising helicopter LiDAR technology to carry out inspections and surveys on infrastructure projects including transmission and distribution lines, delivering innovation and rapid delivery for large scale projects. We have the capability to use aerial survey data and video imagery in PLS CAD for design purposes. With our UAV technology, we can survey and assess wood pole tops, tower condition, wind turbines and buildings. All these provide our clients with the highest image quality and data profiling whilst reducing risk by negating the need for physical climbing.
Freedom is a specialist in asset inspection, research and training. Assets include wood pole, towers, fire hydrants, street lighting and electrical installations. Using the latest handheld technology and software for assessing and reporting asset condition, we can provide instant status reports. These can extend to providing asset replacement, refurbishment and cost options.
Condition Based Assessments
Many of Freedom's surveys and inspections are condition based assessments of buildings, cable bridges, site security installations and other assets. These provide clients with independent assessments of asset condition and inform of any need to carry out repair or refurbishment works on a planned or reactive basis.
Asset Data Analysis & Reporting
All Freedom survey and inspection services use the latest handheld technology and software systems to provide our clients with bespoke asset analysis and reports. Typical assets might be: wood poles, fire hydrants, street furniture and lighting, man holes and link boxes. This includes automatic attachment of asset photos to data, instant reporting from the field with no need for additional back office processing and support. We also provide secure access via web browser for clients to all of their data and more. Whatever your data analysis and reporting requirements, we can meet your needs through expertise, technology and innovation.
