What we do
Freedom provides feasibility reports on the viability of gas pipeline and LV / HV underground cable and overhead line installations. Our surveyors negotiate with landowners to obtain wayleave, easement, leasehold and freehold agreements. Consents are also obtained from Network Rail, the Environment Agency, Natural England and all other statutory bodies. Ensuring that any ecological, archaeological and arboricultural requirements are managed, Freedom provides the peace of mind that infrastructure is both installed legally and is environmentally compliant.

Land Registry & Statutory Searches
Before embarking upon a new project it is essential that basic searches are carried out. Our research ensures that issues which could critically affect the delivery of your project can be identified and considered at a very early stage. Freedom will identify and capture registered land ownership, utility locations and areas of environmental and historical sensitivity within the scope of your project. This data can be made available as printed hard copy, layered PDF file or as an online web-map.
Important aspects of any projects are thorough research, feasibility and planning. Freedom will provide you with a fully detailed feasibility document, offering recommendations which will enable you to make informed decisions concerning the planning and delivery of your project. In addition to our basic desktop studies which identify land ownership, statutory searches, utility searches and highway definition searches. Freedom’s experienced surveyor will walk your proposed route, identifying special engineering difficulties, potential alternative route options and basic archaeological and ecological constraints for both overhead and underground infrastructure. Our feasibility studies identify at an early stage any potential engineering, statutory and land owner constraints
Ecology & Archaeology
Freedom understands how important it is to protect the environment. Projects we undertake will ensure you are fully compliant, having the required consideration for: protected species and habitats, along with archaeological, historic and environmentally sensitive areas. Freedom’s own ecologists, and our network of approved specialist consultants, can provide ecological and archaeological expertise throughout the process.
Acquisition of Consents
With over 3,500 consents negotiated and obtained each year, our experienced surveyors will manage the complete consenting process for your project. This could include: formal planning, all statutory and non-statutory consent s and assents, wayleave agreements, easements and the acquisition of land and leasehold property.
Access for Construction & Compensation Claims
Freedom’s surveyors have extensive experience of agreeing access for investigative surveys and construction projects with land owners and other stakeholders affected by our clients’ schemes. We understand the importance of agreeing access routes, including recording and reporting on pre and post-access conditions. Whilst the impact of construction schemes is minimised wherever possible, there are invariably reinstatement and compensation costs associated with construction projects. We have an excellent track record of negotiating excellent outcomes for our clients while maintaining good relationships with landowners.
Injurious Affection Claims
Our Surveyors have experience in negotiating injurious affection claims on behalf of our clients, including existing apparatus and as part of the overall compensation package for NSIP schemes.
