The project involved a full turnkey package for the connection of a 20MW wind farm at Burton Wold using 400mm2 Copper conductors, 33KV XLPE single core cables ducted over a route length of 3Km.
The route included directional drilling under 2 roads and a river.
Freedom provided cable route feasibility studies, route proving and designed the routes and obtained consents.
The package included route excavation, installation of ducts, cable installation and reinstatement, cable jointing, system testing, commissioning and handover.
The directional drilling was provided by a specialist sub contractor, A E Yates of Bolton.
