Following the announcement of Andy Catchpole’s appointment of Spice Distribution Managing Director a review of the Freedom Group Board has taken place for the interim period

Following the announcement of Andy Catchpole’s appointment of Spice Distribution Managing Director a review of the Freedom Group Board has taken place for the interim period, which will allow Andy the time to address the challenges of his new role.

Role Changes:
With immediate effect, the following role changes will take place within the Freedom Group:

Wayne Hayes

Wayne Hayes

Wayne Hayes has agreed to take on the added responsibility of Freedom Managing Director and will continue to report direct to Andy Catchpole.

Andy Catchpole said: “Wayne has demonstrated a wide spread of capability and experience within the Freedom Group and fully deserves this opportunity in playing a leading role in Freedom’s future development.”

Steve James

Steve James

Following Steve’s successful secondment to Freedom Power Projects South, as Director of Projects for the London area, this includes the ongoing Osborn Street project. Steve has been promoted to the position of Divisional Director for Power Projects South and will continue to report to Wayne Hayes.

Wayne Hayes said: “Steve will provide key leadership to ensure that we continue to build on our strong market presence in the Southern region.“

Mick Long

Mick Long

Mick Long will continue as Connections Director but will also assume Pete Hulyer’s Operational role with Distribution Asset Replacement due to the similarities in operations.

Bob Theobald

Bob Theobald

Bob Theobald will transfer from Freedom Power Projects South as Divisional Director and take on the appointment of Managing Director of Gas division, reporting directly to Andy Catchpole.

Andy Catchpole said: “I have every confidence in Bob’s appointment to improve the efficiency of our day to day operations within the gas division and strengthen our capacity for growth.”

“These are exciting times and the role changes within the divisions will steer us on to further successes, which will gives us benefit and security to all concerned during the current recession.”
