The scope covers arrangements for the inspection and undertaking of the maintenance of building and civil assets including key associated management functions on the fabric and boundaries of some 71,000 substations and other operational sites, including the control of vegetation.
It covers both planned and reactive service works, including the following:
- Maintenance Scheduled Tasks
- Emergency attendance and temporary works
- Corrective temporary and permanent repairs
Provision of Services
- Professional and technical building and asset management and surveying services
- Building works for the repair and maintenance of building fabric and the replacement of defective elements (e.g. roofs, walls, floors, doors, windows, louvers, supporting structures, background service installations, surface finishes and foul and rainwater disposal etc). This involves all trades, including brickwork, joinery, plumbing, plastering, electrical, roofing and painting.
- Repair and improvement works to yard areas, paths and roads including excavations below ground, drainage and hard surface reinstatement.
- Repair works to frame supporting structures and building elements.
- Maintenance and inspection of sump pumps and alarm systems.
- Graffiti removal.
- Inspection and maintenance of fire extinguishing systems and fire extinguishers and alarm systems.
- Pest control.
- Painting of distribution plant.
- Vegetation control.
- Site security inspection and minor repairs.
- Fencing, including security fencing and gates.
- Maintenance of tunnels, subways and other underground works (non exclusive item).
- Maintenance of bridges and other structures (non exclusive item).
- Asbestos management, including surveying, monitoring and removal including customer enquires and liaison.
- Removal of waste, including hazardous and waste.
- Maintenance of cable markers and navigation buoys.
- Maintenance, extension and replacement of mechanical ventilation systems.
- Maintenance of bunds to transformer bays.
