Colchester Grid works

EDF Energy approached Freedom with the view to increasing supply capacity at Colchester Grid substation in Essex. The Freedom design team, under the Professional Services Contract with EDF Energy, presented the option of increasing the 2 original 132kV/33kV 45MVA transformers with new 90MVA units.

Street Lighting Replacement

NWP Power Systems (part of Freedom) were successful in winning this contract which involved the removal of 8metre concrete columns which had surpassed their life expectancy. The new lighting scheme consisted of galvanised steel lighting columns complete with Son-T lanterns.
