Our key customers include some of the UK's largest Distribution Network Operators and as well as some of the largest organisations in country who have significant electrical networks in their own right.

In order to ensure we deliver upon our commitments, we know that providing the necessary skills and competencies to our people to keep them proficient and safe is our number one priority.

2009 saw the completion of our flagship, state of the art training centre in Corby, Northamptonshire, UK. Set in eight acres of land and with 77,000 Sq feet of internal training space, we are able to meet the skills challenges of our people and our sector by providing craft and skills training in:

  • Cable Jointing
  • Switchgear Maintenance
  • Electrical Engineering Training to Senior Authorised Personnel level
  • Overhead Line Construction
  • NRSWA and TMA Management
  • ICT Skills.

Freedom's Apprenticeship Scheme

We believe in inspiring and developing our people and with our continued growth and success we have a number of exciting opportunities and places available for aspiring apprentices to join our team.

The scheme will allow apprentices to become fully qualified craftspersons who are able to work on underground and overhead electrical distribution networks. At the end of the three year training programme the apprentice will achieve the following qualifications: an NVQ Level 3 in Electricity System Technology Engineering, a City & Guilds 2322 Technical Certificate in Electrical & Electronic studies Key Skills Level 2.

We are looking for individuals who have a keen interest in the electrical engineering industry with the right skills to embark upon an exciting training programme. To apply for the Apprenticeship Training Scheme candidates will need to:

  • Possess grades A - C in GCSE’s Maths, English, Science and a Technology based subject or have completed an academic course in electrical engineering
  • Hold a full UK driving license or be working towards obtaining the license
  • Demonstrate an interest and understanding of the electrical engineering industry
  • Have an awareness and understanding of safety
  • Be able to demonstrate good communications & customers skills
  • Be prepared to work in an outdoor environment.

Successful candidates will be paid a salary based on JIB current training rates; this will increase every time the candidate reaches a milestone. Other benefits include 20 days paid holidays increasing to 25 days in line with service and personal mentoring support.
