  • WHAT DID YOU DO BEFORE JOINING FREEDOM?

    I was a Senior Engineer for WAPCOS Ltd, an International Consultancy firm based in India.

    WHEN DID YOU JOIN AND HOW HAVE YOU PROGRESSED?

    I joined Freedom in March 2008 as a Senior Engineer working on power systems studies and protection design.  I was then promoted to Principal Engineer in August 2011 looking after the power systems team. In March 2016 I was promoted to Design Manager (South) and I have recently been promoted to Technical Director.

    WHY DID YOU CHOOSE TO WORK AT FREEDOM?

    I chose Freedom because you get to work on wide diversity of projects. The design department has all the disciplines under one roof, giving a good opportunity to learn and diversify my knowledge.

    WHAT TRAINING, DEVELOPMENT OR QUALIFICATIONS HAVE YOU RECEIVED OR ACHIEVED DURING YOUR TIME WITH FREEDOM?

    I have gained formal qualifications in Leadership Training, Prince2 Foundation, MIET and CEng.

    WHAT ARE YOU MAJOR SUCCESSES AND HIGHLIGHTS FROM WORKING WITH FREEDOM?

    Successfully delivering projects that satisfy the aims of all concerned, such as RAF Marham substation design, Digital Realty data centre harmonic filter design and contestable connections designs.

    WHAT DO YOU HOPE FOR IN YOUR FUTURE AT FREEDOM?

    Having recently been promoted to the role of Technical Director, I am looking forward to gaining experience in other aspect of managing company affairs.

  • When did you join and how have you progressed?

    I started with Freedom in July 2003 as an Operational Support Assistant.  I did this role for just over 3 years before becoming a trainee Field Manager in January 2007, progressing up to being a fully fledged Field Manager in 2011.

    Why did you choose to work at Freedom?

    I jumped at the chance as the work and industry sounded interesting, with more prospects than I currently had. The company had long standing members and was like a family.

    What training, development or qualifications have you received or achieved during your time with Freedom?

    I received a comprehensive training programme which would include putting me through an ONC and HNC in construction and many other industry qualifications such as IOSH, Pasma.  I am currently working towards my NEBOSH certificate so constant development is achieved, having just completed my SMSTS and Prince2.

    What are you major successes and highlights from working with Freedom?

    Major successes have come from being accepted in to a traditionally male environment and working my way through qualifications and challenges, having left school education with no qualifications. My main highlights are working with talented individuals gaining more insight in to the electrical industry.

    What do you hope for in your future at Freedom?

    I am hoping to progress into project management with Freedom as I am a driven individual with a will to succeed.

  • What did you do before joining Freedom?

    Prior to joining Freedom, I worked as a Quality Assessor in an independent research company.

    When did you join and how have you progressed?

    I joined Freedom G-Map in August 2015 as a Safe-Dig Administrator and I was promoted to Safe-Dig Manager’s role at the start of Financial Year 2017.

    Why did you choose to work at Freedom?

    I felt I could potentially grow within the business and develop my skills and knowledge of this industry.

    What training, development or qualifications have you received or achieved during your time with Freedom?

    I have completed various courses and training including WIMS, First Aid, Asbestos Awareness and AutoCAD.

    What are you major successes and highlights from working with Freedom?

    My major success so far has been achieving the role of Safe-Dig Manager in this relatively short period of time.

    What do you hope for in your future at Freedom?

    I hope I can continue to develop within the business and perhaps take on more challenging roles in the future.
